(2) How to charge the new battery

The positive and negative electrodes of the battery are connected to the positive and negative electrodes of the power supply respectively. The first charge current is used to charge the electrolyte to release bubbles, and the cell voltage rises to 2.3-2.4V. Then, the current is reduced to 1/2 of the initial charging current, and the vigorous discharge of electrolyte bubbles continues. (3) How to protect the battery

In the process of using the battery, water transpiration and water electrolysis will reduce the liquid surface during charging. (4) How to safely operate the battery during battery maintenance? Observe the following safety rules

1 Handle the battery with care, and do not bend it so as not to splash electrolyte on the clothes or the skin, resulting in corrosion or burns. If it is splashed, flush with water immediately. 2 When checking the specific gravity of the electrolyte and the height of the liquid, make the suction pipe slightly away from the electrolyte injection inlet, and do not raise it too high to avoid electrolyte splashing. 3 Stop the oil container and various metal objects on the battery case. 4 In the manufacture of electrolytes, ceramic containers should be used, and sulfuric acid should be gradually poured into water. Surely, water should be prevented from being poured into sulfuric acid to prevent sulfuric acid from splashing on burned skin and clothing, and even the formation of containers.


(5) How to discharge the battery

When the charge and discharge cycles of a new battery and the working capacity of an experimental battery are required, discharge must be performed in accordance with a certain specification to check whether the battery reaches an extra capacity. With the extra capacity of the battery 1/20, the current is discharged to 1.75V per cell and the voltage is measured every 2h after the beginning of discharge. Since the voltage drops to 1.8V, the voltage decreases rapidly. The voltage should be measured 15~20mim. When the voltage drops to 1.75V, the discharge should be immediately stopped. Otherwise, the voltage will be drastically reduced to “0”, which will burn the plate and cause the next charge to be difficult. There are many ways to discharge (such as discharge with a lamp, discharge with a variable resistor, discharge with electrolyte, and discharge with a battery with a lower voltage), depending on the specific conditions. In the discharged circuit, the ammeter must be connected in series and a voltmeter must be connected in order to observe the voltage value in time and stop the discharge without losing the opportunity.


(6) How to reduce the battery capacity

After the battery is charged, the battery is not used for a short time, lack of electricity, the starter is unable to roll, the engine is difficult to start, the volume of the speaker and sound is reduced, the light is dim, and the high-rate discharge meter is used to check the single cell battery, and the voltage is lower than 1.5V, that is, Battery capacity is reduced. It is clarified that these materials form a short circuit between the plates, resulting in lack of capacity. 7) How to confirm the battery storage to reduce problems


Storage capacity can reduce the commonly known as “running electricity”, the main sight is: the first day when the income is still enough to close the car, the next day the starter is rolling powerless; the engine off time is a little longer, there are difficult to start again; lights dim, the speaker does not ring . Check whether the battery leads are grounded. If it is not grounded, use a high-rate discharge meter to check each cell voltage and view it once every hour. If the initial voltage reaches a certain value, the agility will decrease instantaneously, and if it is severe, it will decrease to 0, indicating that there is a short circuit between the polar plates. Open the battery cover and use a glass tube to get the electrolyte. If the electrolyte is cloudy, clarify that the electrolyte contains impurities. At this moment, the plates should be taken out and the partitions should be taken out for observation. If the partitions have punctures, it is clear that the problem is caused by the perforation of the partitions. In addition, it should be checked whether the appearance of the battery is too dirty and whether there is electrolyte overflow.


(7) How to prevent battery explosion

During the initial charge and discharge of the new battery, the water is decomposed and a large amount of hydrogen and oxygen are generated. If it is not released in time, the battery will burst when it encounters the spark. 1 Always check and unblock the ventilation holes on the battery cover to ensure that the internal gases are discharged in a timely manner; 2 The internal connection of the battery and the connection on the electric pile should be solid to avoid the occurrence of electric spark; 3 Try to avoid scraping on the battery electric pile Fire, to avoid detonation; 4 first open the battery cover, and then use high rate discharge meter to view.


(8) How to use dry batteries instead of batteries

When the car has no battery or the battery is damaged, 6-8 dry batteries can be used instead. The method is: Connect the dry batteries in series, roll them into one piece with stiff paper, and put the iron on one end, and connect the other end to the switch terminal on the ignition coil.
